“I love to read. I’m a Kindergarten teacher and in my class, I have a minimum of 3 read-alouds a day. That’s the minimum. I love to inspire new readers and help them find their love for books.

“So the idea for our Little Free Library had been sitting in the back of our heads for a while, now. One day we said, ‘Okay. Now’s the time to take the plunge and get it done.’ My husband built it from a sketch on a napkin; made the whole thing. That’s how all great stories start, right? From a sketch on a napkin?

“It’s only been around for a few months, but we have big plans. I’m hoping we can have an outreach to Victoria School; have the kids come over here and do some read-alouds. Grown people should come too. We grown-ups are too tied to our technology, these days. Come on over and do some reading aloud yourself once in a while.

“We’ll do something special here for Dr. Seuss’ birthday and other events like that. We sometimes put out crafts for the kids to do while they’re here.

“We don’t get as much traffic as some other Little Libraries in the area, but we’ve got a Facebook profile going. We hope, as more people hear about it, we’ll get more neighbors stopping by.”
